ビートルズ、ストーンズと比べると、やはり地味な感は否めないかな。好きなバンドだし、いい曲ぞろいなので、是非、聴いてほしいです。

ファンにはお馴染みの曲を収録のBEST盤だが、

この作品は「シングル・コレクション」ということでデビューシングルの

「LONG　TALL　SALLY」や「DAVID　WATTS」がちゃんと入っているのがうれしいところ。

他のベスト盤でははじかれる事もままある為、これらがそろっていて

初期KINKSのベストとしては最も纏まりがあるし、何よりCD1枚で完結しているところが

コストパフォーマンス、内容、ジャケット、1枚で完結・・・とこれがKINKSのBEST盤の

決定版であろう。

従来のファンの方にもビギナーの方にも大推薦の「KINKS・BEST」である。

Music
First, I must say that before buying this album, I didn't know the Kinks very well. I knew a couple of songs from them that I liked (You Really Got Me,
All Day and All of the Night, Till the End of the Day, A Well Respected Man, Lola) but I didn't own any music from them. I was looking for a CD containing all the hits I know, plus their other most well known songs (Sunny Afternoon, Waterloo Sunset from their 60s era (because it its the period during which I find the Kink's music interesting.

This Kinks Singles Collection is perfect for what I was looking for. There are other more comprehensive collections, like the Ultimate Collection, which sells approximately for the same price but has almost twice the songs (it's a 2-CD box set), so if you're looking to get the most songs/$ maybe you could check this one out. But for me, the Singles Collection was better, because I prefered to have one disc which contains all the Kink's 60s hits (+ Lola which was released in 1970). I also like the fact that the songs are presented in chronological order.

Packaging
The booklet contains interesting facts and comments on each of the 25 songs of this CD. It also has small pictures of the Kinks and the singles cover that were released in the past. A funny fact about my CD is that when I opened the case and took the CD out, the image inside the case was the cover of Black Sabbaths ablum Paranoid which is an strange error but made me laugh!

Musique
Tout d'abord, je dois dire qu'avant d'acheter cet album, je ne connaissas pas très bien les Kinks. Je connaissais quelques chansons d'eux que j'aimais bien (You Really Got Me,All Day and All of the Night, Till the End of the Day, A Well Respected Man , Lola) mais je ne possédais pas de musique des Kinks. Je cherchais un CD contenant tous les hits que je connais, en plus de leurs autres chansons les plus connues (Sunny Afternoon, Waterloo Sunset) des années 60 (car c'est la période pendant laquelle je trouve que leur musique était intéressante)

La Singles Collection Kinks est parfaite pour ce que je cherchais. Il y a d'autres collections plus complètes, comme la Ultimate Collection, qui coute environ la même chose, mais a presque le double des chansons (coffret de 2 CD), donc si vous cherchez à obtenir le plus de chansons / $ peut-être que vous pourriez acheter cette dernière. Mais pour moi, la Singles Collection était mieux, parce que je préférais avoir un disque qui contient toutes les hit des 60s des Kinks (+ Lola qui est sorti en 1970). J'aime aussi le fait que les chansons sont présentées en ordre chronologique.

Emballage
Le livret contient des faits et des commentaires intéressants sur chacune des 25 chansons de ce CD. Il y a aussi des petites photos des Kinks et de couvertures des singles qui son sorti dans le passé. Un fait cocasse sur mon CD est que quand je l'ai ouvert et ai retiré le CD, l'image à l'intérieur de la boite était la couverture de l'album Paranoid de Black Sabbath, ce qui est une erreur étrange mais m'a fait bien rire!
