Beautifully done! In lieu of typical tourist photos, this book imaginatively captures the essence of one of my favorite destinations through vividly detailed sketches presented in thematic chapters, covering London's architecture, street life, fashion, nightlife and its culinary landscape. The author's captions and personal commentary enhance the already stunning artwork. I liked this book so much that I plan to send copies to selected friends and family for Christmas.

This is the book if you want to re-visit London with actually going there. I spent a few years there in my teens and 20's, and I've been back a few times since, so I know it pretty well. This book brought me back, and it is an introduction to London for my daughter, with whom I am going to London in June. So it is a retrospective and a glimpse into the now as well. It recommends shops, restaurants, historically and architecturally significant places, etc. Good as a memory jogger, conversation starter or an introduction. Illustrations are fab. Love it!

There are the numerable images, tips, and insights that I find fascinating and have come to expect, as well as the inclusion of multiple fully realized color plates, capturing Mr. Brooks' artistry at its most fully developed point.
