Pros: Great sticks, great ergonomics with programmable back buttons, good battery life, charging dock with diffused white LED bar looks great and is super useful, gyro control matches that of Nintendo's own Switch Pro controller, fully remappable buttons, customisable rumble, customisable trigger activation & threshold positions, three independent profiles, can swap on the fly between bluetooth Switch connection and 2.4 GHz PC connection, can be used across a variety of PCs/consoles, 2.4 GHz dongle can live inside charging dock as there is a fully functional USB port inside - reception perfectly fine like this.
Cons: IMPORTANTLY you can ONLY program the back buttons, remap buttons, setup different profiles etc via the 8bitdo software on your computer. Without their app on your PC you cannot use most of the controllers main selling points. Build quality less than that of Nintendo Switch pro controller. No HD rumble (mild con since it doesn't make a huge difference).

The ergonomics are off. I come from a Xbox Elite 2 and that thing was hefty and angled right. This controller is light but feels boxy? My hands can't rest as comfortably as the Elite 2.

Only got it because of a game that had no X Y options to change. Shake it after turning on to wake the Switch up. Very satisfied with this controller so far. Recommended for sure.

Have been using this controller for several months now and I absolutely love it. Everything about it is thoughtfully designed, and I have yet to run into any problems with the controller.

The 8Bitdo Ultimate software works well and the phone app is quick to pair and edit macros and button mapping.

The charging dock is genius and the inbuilt 2.4ghz USB dongle is great as I'm able to use this on my Switch and my PC without having to pair and unpair constantly.

My Pro Controller is collecting dust on the shelf thanks to the 8Bitdo Ultimate.

Controller will charge via dock and cable, but is not detected.

Only the 2.4ghz adapter works.

Everything about the controller is great right out of the box and was super simple to connect to my iPad Air (which is why I got it in the first place). The joycons/d-pad/triggers are smooth when pressed and don’t have any kind of lag. The button mapping is switched around and I’ve tried using the app to change it, but it isn’t a big deal.. I just have to retrain my muscle memory with each game which is something I’m used to when trying a new game for the first time anyway. The price isn’t that steep for what it does and how comfortable it feels in your hands. My Switch controllers (an added benefit that it can replace the skinny small pieces) are hard on my hands and this feels like my PS5/XBOX1 controllers so it was intuitive and acts like a pro controller without the dreaded joycon drift. The coolest part is definitely the charging station.. it is super cute on my desk and makes for an easy grab and play situation. I’ve been on the hunt for a controller that can play on my devices and this is totally user friendly so I can be a gamer girl!
