珍しい題材を上手に料理した好著。
盆栽しか目に入らないような生活をしているヒロインをストーカー的に慕う同級生という構図です。
最近、増えてきたこの構図ですが、盆栽という題材を据えたことで陳腐さをきれいに吹き飛ばすことに成功しています。
これがケーキとか食べ物だったら、「ラーメン大好き小泉さん」の二番煎じなのですが、そんな批判は生じる余地はありません。
むしろ、主人公自身の感情の豊かさがキャラクター間の交流を密にしていることが、単なるうんちく漫画に陥ることを防いでいる。
盆栽は品評会などもたくさん開かれており、いわば甲子園のかわりの舞台の用意されています。また舞台が高校なので部活動を主軸にした青春群像劇も可能。
アニメ化も含め、今後の展開が楽しみな作品です。

盆栽知識は基本的な事が中心のようです。

「盆栽」と「友情」を育む心暖まる成長マンガ

盆栽とは凡人では到底楽しめない領域であろうと敬遠していたが、
本作を読ませて頂いて少しだけ盆栽という文化に対して興味を持てた。

凡庸な主人公が同年代の盆栽マニアと知り合う過程で、
お互いの間に生じている溝や障壁を取り除き、「心と心」とで影響され溶け合わさっていく姿を
内面と外面とで丁寧に描く「２重描写」が他にはない本作の魅力だと思う。

本作を読み深めると共に
作者のマンガに対する愛情や直向きさがヒシヒシと伝わってくる。
読了後にもう一度読み返したくなる気分になったのは久しぶりだった。

少々、コメディ要素でマニアックな部分もあるがそこはご愛敬。
エッセイ本では表現できない「マンガとしての表現」への昇華は稀有な才だと思う。

絵柄で敬遠しないで、
もっと様々な年代職種の方々にも手に取って頂きたくなる素晴らしい作品。
２巻の発売を心待ちしております。

ちゃんと盆栽

盆栽を生業とする家の娘と主人公の少女が学校で出会い､
盆栽を通して友情を育んでいくといった物語のようです。

人間関係と植物を育ていることを重ねつつ、
簡単な盆栽の知識を要所で丁寧に挟んでいく描写は
予想していたよりもまともで有り、
近年氾濫気味の特定ジャンルをつまみにし
娘同士の交流で和ませようという作品とは幾分異なる印象です。

余り盆栽に深く入り込み過ぎて蘊蓄で退屈な内容には至らず、
日常系の様なやまなしおちなしでキャラの可愛さアピールが過ぎて
取上げた題材がおざなりになってもおらず、
それでいてきちんと青春物語と盆栽といった特定ジャンルとの関係がずれもせず
興味を持って読み進めることが出来ました。
1巻目は未だ主要登場人物紹介と関係の出発地点形成といった内容で、
本格的に盆栽に取り組んでいくのは次の巻からでしょう。
ともあれ楽しみにして待っています。
