One of the most astonishing movements in recent years, backed by theory and the academy, is the steep rise of anti-white racism. Anti-white racism, typically called ‘anti-racism’ by its purveyor, entered the campuses with Marxism in the 1960s, but it has skyrocketed in the last twenty years. It should be no surprise because Marxism and Marxist ideas about capitalism (essentially white, Christian, and European) infect all organs of our disintegrating Western Society.
Anti-white racism is wrapped in the usual twisted, swollen, obfuscating academic jargon, but its bottom line is a fierce hatred for white people and their civilisation, specifically, people from an Anglo background, meaning those from the British Isles or those with ancestry in the British Isles. The worst of its utterances is the call for white genocide. How could this be? Why has there been no effective action, particularly by governments, to stop its spread?
Australia ended its so-called ‘white Australia’ policy in 1973. (Highly regarded Australian historian Keith Windschuttle has vigorously challenged the ‘White Australia’ thesis in his book, The White Australia Policy.) Since then, the nation has bent over backwards to alter its perception as an (allegedly) racist country.
Our immigration policy has been scrupulously non-discriminatory. We have taken people from the poorest, most underdeveloped countries, even those from strikingly incompatible cultures, and given them a chance of a new life for themselves and their families. While most immigrants express their gratitude for a fresh start, there is a substantial minority subscribing to the ‘whiteness’ propaganda.
Some of the most outspoken purveyors of Anglophobia or anti-white racism come from countries wracked by poverty and ethnic violence. After receiving an education that has given them a university qualification and the way into the best jobs and political networks, they rage about the ‘whiteness’ and ‘white privilege’ that surrounds them. That white people were responsible for the advantages they enjoy is of no account – even denied.
Until the 1950s, after most of Australia’s social and economic infrastructure had been established, around ninety-five per cent of Australians were from an Anglo-British Isles background. Should a relentless campaign of racial hatred reward us for the struggle, sometimes soul-destroying, to build one of the world’s most prosperous and politically free nations?
Most of my ancestors, starting with two on the First Fleet, were from the city-poor or rural labouring classes. I have nine convicts in my direct lines, including one on the First Fleet. They all made good, convicts and free alike. But the price was back-breaking work, often unrewarding, first on the great landholders’ farms and then on their own small farms. The stories of iconic Australian author Henry Lawson are true accounts of the trials and sufferings of those brave, indomitable pioneers. Whatever white privilege I have is due to the opportunities my first ancestors created for me.
My story would be the same as most Australians in the 1950s, a time when Australians were rightly proud of themselves and their achievements. It would not have entered their heads that seventy years later, they would be subjected to such bewildering animosity as now comes at them from all levels of Australian society, most notably from the elites in government, public service, education, the media, and the corporate world. What has changed?
First, the percentage of Australians of British Isles ancestry has dropped well below 95 per cent, though we are still a majority – at the moment. The drop is not a sufficient cause of the animosity. Nor is an unexceptionable idea of multiculturalism. Australia needs migrants to grow, and different nationalities add to the nation’s character and customs. There are obvious national influences on lifestyle from some migrant groups.
Australians only expect – what all healthy nations naturally expect – is that newcomers respect the founding principles of the Australian nation, principles that have been the ground base for the nation’s exceptional prosperity and security.
No, what engineered the change was a deliberate denigration of Australians of British Isles ancestry and the manipulation of Australia’s migration and population policy by powerful elites to achieve ideological ends. The end of that ideology is the elimination of Anglo influence and the replacement of the Anglo population to the extent that whiteness, particularly Anglo whiteness, has no cultural and political influence in Australia. Some dismiss such claims as outlandish, even delusional.
In their book, ANGLOPHOBIA: THE UNRECOGNISED HATRED, Harry Richardson and Frank Salter provide a sustained analysis of Australia’s effective migration and population policy of the last fifty years to lay bare the multicultural ideology I have outlined. They demonstrate with overwhelming evidence and tight argument that an embittered Anglophobic elite is running a campaign to eliminate Anglo influence and replace the Anglo population.
They show that the campaign is deep and systematic and run by a powerful, carefully coordinated group, some of whom enjoy and own the best Australia has to offer. The authors say in the introduction that their book is ‘the distillation of example after example of egregious Anglophobic behaviours.’ I could offer abundant quotations, but many of the declarations of acute sufferers of Anglophobia are so manic and abusive that they would not pass scrutiny here.
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in current political movements in Western society, particularly in anglophone countries. One should at least know what one is surrendering.
