外見に囚われている理由がわかる本
この本の登場人物で『外側の美しさよりも中身だよ』と言われて、そんなのただの綺麗事だと思っている主人公に強く共感している自分がいました。その後、その主人公は鏡の中での世界を通して根本的な根強い歪みの原因と向き合っていくのですが、思想がわたしと重なりすぎて涙が止まりませんでした。涙が出たと言っても悲しい涙でもなく、感動の涙でもなく、わたしがずっと探し求めていた納得できる答えを見つけたことへの喜びでした。男性でも女性でも外見は一つの武器だし、視覚で確認できる認知しやすい武器なだけあって強力だし美への執着はある意味呪縛のようなものだなと思います。特に10代の頃を振り返ると校内での美人ランクは常にどこにでも存在してましたし、公にはなってなくとも会社の中でも美人の格付けみたいなのはやっぱり存在するよなと思います。顔だけじゃなくてスタイルとか見た目全体において自分に対する自分からの評価は面白いぐらい表情にでるし、ごまかしが効かないのでこの本を読んでわたしもわたしの歪みとしっかり向き合おうと思いました！何か満たされないものがある人、恋愛にトラブルを抱えている人、見た目にコンプレックスを抱いている人にとっておすすめの本です。10代の頃に出会っておきたかったなぁと思う本でした。
